She lived in Australia until her lawyer father, James Curtis, moved to the Philippines when she was 12 years old. It is a move that Curtis is thankful for. "I am so happy that I’m here. If I were in Australia I’d have been in a boarding school! My dad was strict when it came to education. He kept on discouraging me when I tried doing commercials, saying that they are just tricking me to get out of school. We lived in the country, so we’d be asleep around 8 or 9 p.m. It was really boring. But here there are so many gimmicks. As of now, being young, I prefer living here (in the Philippines) but maybe when I settle down, I’ll move back to Australia.

Kristine Hermosa Orille (born September 9, 1983 in Quezon City, Philippines) is a Filipina actress. She is born to a Filipino father and a Spanish mestiza mother. She has an older sister named Kathleen, who was the one eager to audition to be a star on ABS-CBN. However, her sister failed to impress the judges on the first screening.
It was reluctant younger sister Kristine who was suggested to audition mainly due to her height and beauty. Thought to be just another pretty-faced teenage actress, Kristine rose to fame in the TV series “Pangako Sa ‘Yo“, which made famous her love team partnership with Jericho Rosales, who later became her real-life boyfriend.
Years before her fame, Kristine started out as Baron Geisler’s loveteam partner in Nagbibinata. Later on, she was cast in the heavy drama “Sa Sandaling Kailangan Mo Ako”, a weekly series together with Marvin Agustin. She garnered critical acclaim for her performance in this series where she portrayed the role of a woman five years her senior.
She was linked to Diether Ocampo until it became a real-life romance on the set of “Sana’y Wala ng Wakas”. The two got married later on. Their joint project, a TV series, “Til Death Do Us Part” was a major flop. In 2005, she was given the role of Luisa in the much-loved classic “Gulong ng Palad” together with new TV partner TJ Trinidad. This was her TV comeback after a long hiatus.
Kristine Hermosa is a member of ABS-CBN’s circle of homegrown talents named Star Magic.
came after she was cast in the hit mini-series Sa Sandaling Kailangan Mo Ako where her acting prowess was noticed.
Birth Place: Quezon City, Philippines, USA
Birth Name: Kristina Bernadette Cojuangco Aquino
Height: 5'3"
She is the fifth and youngest child of former president Corazon Aquino and Benigno Aquino, Jr., a popular opposition senator during the Ferdinand Marcos regime. She is the youngest of five siblings: Maria Elena, Aurora Corazon, Benigno the III (who currently represents Tarlac in the Philippine House of Representatives) and Victoria Eliza.
In recent years, Aquino has been labeled "The Philippines' Queen of Talk," due to her success in hosting talk shows. She was also crowned as the 2004 Box Office Queen for her hit movies such as Feng Shui and So... Happy Together.
In the infamous 1978 parliamentary elections where her father was a candidate, the seven-year-old Aquino wooed the crowds as a stand-in for her imprisoned father at campaign rallies. Aquino spent most of her elementary school days in the United States because the Aquino family was in exile. After the assassination of her father in 1983, Aquino returned to the Philippines and was a precocious presence in rallies against the Marcos regime. After the 1986 revolution that removed President Ferdinand Marcos from power, the teenaged Kris stepped into the limelight, starting with guest spots on television dramas and comedies, as well as talk shows. Finally, she made her film debut with actor Rene Requiestas in the comedy Pido Dida.
Aquino afterwards had a commercially steady, though critically panned career and managed to score an acting nomination for The Fatima Buen Story. She also starred in a film based on a true-life murder, The Vizconde Massacre. Its financial success and successive crime films of the same vein in which she starred in gained her the nickname "Massacre Queen" by newspaper critics.
Kris graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature.
It was not until 1994, that she did a Nandito Ako with action star Philip Salvador that started one of Kris' very controversial love affairs. Aquino became pregnant and had a child, Joshua.
With her movie career slowing, Aquino shifted her sights on a television career as a talk show host launched through The Kris Aquino Show produced by VIVA on Channel 4. But it was in GMA Network showbiz oriented talk show Startalk where she co-hosted with Boy Abunda and Lolit Solis that her hosting capabilities were noticed.
Media conglomerate and GMA Network's rival ABS-CBN noticed her undeniable hosting wit, offered her a contract and launched Today with Kris Aquino, one of the most successful talk shows of the 1990s. In January 2003 to May 2004, she hosted yet another successful morning talk show that was supposed to last for 2 weeks but lasted for 16 months entitled Morning Girls with Kris and Korina alongside popular media personality Korina Sanchez. Not all of Aquino's television endeavors were hits; notable failures include Balitang Kris, which lasted for one season. As of 2005, she hosts The Buzz, a showbiz gossip/talk show with Boy Abunda and Cristy Fermin for the same network, as well as Pilipinas, Game KNB?, a game show which focuses on trivia. She had been also controversial for wearing plunging dresses which noted her as a fashion-talk show queen.
Aquino is also known for her troublesome relationships. However, she recently admitted that she and James Yap, who plays basketball for the Purefoods Chunkee Giants, had a civil marriage in July 2005. She also revealed in her show, The Buzz that she and husband James Yap are expecting a baby in May 2007. In the mid-1990s, Aquino was also involved with a Purefoods basketball player, Alvin Patrimonio, who was then married. In her relationship before Yap, she was involved with then Paranaque mayor Joey Marquez, who she later split in a tumultuous ending, allegeding that Marquez pointed a gun at her face, and also gave her venereal disease. She made her admission on an interview by former co-host Korina Sanchez on the ABS-CBN newscast TV Patrol. Such admission became the highest-rating news segment in the history of Philippine newscast.
Kris Aquino is the highest paid TV Host in the Philippines, thus, making her the 'Queen of Talk and Game Shows'. She is also one of the Filipino actresses who are sought after by companies for product endorsements. At present, she is an endorser for a popular corned beef brand as well as for San Miguel Corporation and Smart Communications. Incidentally, the same corned beef brand is the name of basketball team that James Yap plays for. Her commercial for San Miguel became the most remembered tv commercial and was said to have a 99 percent audience recall. She was paid a total of P20,000,000.00 for the said endorsement.
Aquino was also bestowed the title of "Commercial Princess of the Philippines". Such title was given to her for having numerous of TV and print apperances in Filipino media. and for being the 2nd-highest paid commercial endorser in the Philippines (next to the Sharon Cuneta).
She also currently hosts the Philippine franchise of Deal or No Deal, which is currently in ABS-CBN's primetime lineup.
Kris Aquino got her start in movies with the help of Regal Films, one of the oldest film outfits in the Philippines. Her first few movies were mostly wholesome stories, the most enduring of which was the Pido Dida series, where she was paired with the late comedian Rene Requiestas and earned her her first box-office queen award. She later on she shifted into more serious roles, notably with massacre films such as The Vizconde Massacre. Despite her being a big draw in the box office, her acting skills were considered stiff and mechanical.
She first drew praise for her acting when she bagged a nomination from the Gawad Urian award-giving body, composed of film critics, for the film The Fatima Buen Story. She eventually won a supporting actress award for the film Mano Po (Regal FIlms), where she portrayed a weak-willed and submissive scion of a wealthy Filipino-Chinese clan.
But Aquino's most commercially-successful movie in her career is Feng Shui, a Star Cinema production that featured Chinese influences and omen. Feng Shui, which was made during the wave of "Asian-style horror" flicks that spread throughout the continent since 2002's The Ring, made P180,218,395. It was the highest grossing Filipino movie of 2004, and the second most successful movie overall next to Spider-Man 2 which made over P225 million.
Like anyone else, Aquino had her share of box-office bombs. Her 2003 movie with actor Robin Padilla, You and Me Against The World, flopped at the box-office right from the start. Made for P25,000,000 and released immediately after Aquino won acting awards (for her performance in 2002's Mano Po), You and Me Against The World made only P4,389,005. The film's producers lost an estimated P23,000,000, even with home videos accounted. Because You and Me Against The World failed to attract an audience, several movie theaters pulled the film out and replaced it with another film. Some theaters were reported to have done this on the movie's 2nd day of play.
She is now married with PBA player James Yap. She is also expected to have her second child after she announced on The Buzz that she is pregnant.
Vina Morales Profile
Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 11:44 PM | Labels: Female Artist, Pinay Celebrity, Vina MoralesEven as a child growing up in Bogo, Cebu, Sharon Garcia Magdayao a.k.a.Vina Morales knew that she wanted to be a singer. It was nine-year-old Sharon’s singing with her church choir that would lead to her big break. The local parish priest, Fr. Fritz Malinao, was also a songwriter. He recognized Sharon’s talent and asked her to sing one of his compositions as an entry in the Cebu Pop Music Festival. The song, “Paglaum,” (”hope” in Visayan), not only won the Grand Prize but also earned the “Best Interpreter” award for its young singer.
Sharon and her family were surprised to learn that representatives from Viva Films had seen her performance. They were so impressed with her talents that they immediately offered her a singing and acting contract.
The Magdayao family was very supportive of their gifted daughter. They sold everything they had in Cebu and moved to Manila. The family entrusted ten-year-old Sharon’s career to Mina del Rosario of Viva Films, who became like a second mother to Sharon. It was Mina who gave Sharon the name Vina, taken from her daughter’s name Vina Vanesa.
The only problem standing in the way of Vina’s acting career was that she only spoke English and Bisaya. But now that she was living in Manila, her Tagalog improved rapidly and she soon made her first movie, Nakagapos na Puso, in which she played the niece of Tonton Gutierrez. The film also starred Vina’s idol and namesake, Sharon Cuneta.
In her late teens Vina Morales began taking on more mature roles. She appeared with Robin Padilla in Utol Kong Hoodlum. She starred with Ariel Rivera in Anghel Na Walang Langit. This was a dual role in which Vina played two lookalike young women with very different personalities.
One of Vina’s most challenging and controversial roles was that of Sarah Balabagan, the young Muslim domestic helper from Mindanao who killed her employer in United Arab Emirates after he raped her. For a while it seemed like The Sarah Balabagan Story might never be shown publicly, after the UAR government objected to the way Muslim life was depicted in some scenes. It was finally allowed to be shown and earned Vina three Best Actress nominations.
While Vina’s acting career flourished, she also kept up with her singing, continuing to record albums and perform in live concerts. Her latest album, released in March 2004, is a collection of love songs entitled Mamahalin Ka Niya. Vina co-wrote the lyrics of one song, “Paano Kaya Magtatagpo?”, with good friend Piolo Pascual. Their busy schedules did not allow them to meet in person, so they wrote the lyrics through texting! The music was then composed by Arnel de Pano. Later Vina and Piolo recorded the song as a duet. Other songs on the album include “Yakapin Mo Ako,” “Pangako” and “Saan Darating ang Umaga.” Vina had first sung “Yakapin Mo Ako” when portraying singer Joey Albert on the biographical TV series Maalaala Mo Kaya.
For the past couple of years Vina’s career as an international concert artist has really taken off big-time. In 2002 she had a series of shows with Martin Nievera in the US and Canada. She had her own successful mult-city US tour, “Vina Revealed,” in the summer of 2003 and is currently in the middle of another one called “Vina’s Hot!” Vina doesn’t just sing, she also does several high-energy dance numbers at each show, and makes sure to keep physically fit so she can keep up with the demands of such an exhausting schedule.
A special honor for Vina was being the first Filipino chosen to sing at the New York International Music Festival, which last year was held at the Palms Hotel in Las Vegas. She performed five songs and got a long standing ovation. Vina still performs at home too, of course; she has a big show coming up at the Araneta on Independence Day 2004.
Vina has one career ambition that she has not yet realized: “I’d like to do theater,” she said in a recent interview. “I was offered to do a musical this year, and I hope it happens because I’ve always wanted to act on stage.” There can be little doubt that Vina will be just as successful in this new venture as she has been in all her other artistic achievements!

Born and raised in The Netherlands to a Dutch father and a Filipina mother, Aliya first sang in public at the age of four. She would since regularly sing in various school presentations and Filipino community affairs. In school her main sports were tennis and soccer although she never said no to any indoor game or other outdoor sports.
She finished an abridged course in Administration. At seventeen, Aliya was Holland's representative to the 1997 Euro-Santa Cruzan celebration held that year in London. She and 13 other European country representatives were presented in a gala evening affair before gracing the next day's grand procession in the main streets of London.
But it is Aliya's love for music and singing which gradually became her focus. As a child she took six years of basic piano and jazz ballet lessons. Once a week during college she would go to a neighboring town by bike to take informal voice lessons from a professional musician and jingles composer who was also the guitarist of a well-known Dutch lady singer. In the small recording studio at the back of his house Aliya would often observe and tinker along. Occasionally she also did on-cam assisting jobs for a Dutch variety tv show. When her parents decided to put up business in the Philippines, it took a mean amount of convincing for her to come along. She finally agreed on a promise to allow her to go back to Holland after two years if she still wanted to.
In late 1998 they finally came to settle in Bacolod City. Aliya decided to take another course and enrolled in USLS (La Salle)-Bacolod taking up MassCom. But the weather, dialect and methods of teaching were such that she experienced culture shock. Her parents agreed that she should discontinue schooling while she acclimatized. She did regret having to give up playing for the women's varsity soccer team. She helped her parents in the business while trying to learn the dialect.
Aliya has proven to be more than just a pretty face. Her career in Manila launched in the year 2000, alternating in different bands 'till 2003. In 2001, during one of her gigs she was discovered by a modeling agent and her modeling career took off. She did over a dozen t.v. commercials even more print ads in Asia. Some of her endorsements included companies like MANELS, TOKYO FASHION and currently NATASHA.
But even with her hands full, Aliya wanted more. She started hosting corporate shows and events on the side, which landed another t.v. stint. She hosted "PLANTET X", an extreme sports show and she became the first main host for "FASHION TV PHILIPPINES"
Still, she could not neglect her love for music, so when an offer came to revive the old hit song "HERE AND NOW", a composition by Filipino "living legend" JOSE MARI CHAN there was no way she could refuse this opportunity. They recorded the song, this time as a duet and with this song she appeared in her first first music video.
On the side Aliya sang lots of jingles for t.v. and radio ads because she saw this as a great opportunity to learn the ropes and gain experience in recording. With the help of composer ALLAN FELICIANO from Hit productions, her voice was now anonymously all over t.v. and radio ads. He started pushing her to write her own songs and as Aliya loves to take a challenge, she gave it a try.
Shortly after she was asked by BOOM DAYUPAY to compose a song for the sound track of the movie, "CRYING LADIES", winner of the Manila Film festival. She got to work and finished her first original composition entitled "INNER STRENGTH (KEEP THE FAITH)" in which she wrote everything from music, lyrics, melody and all arrangements.
During one of the radio promotions for this album, she was a guest with ARTSTRONG on WAVE 89.1. On this particular day the minus one was not available, so ALIYA and ARTSTRONG had to figure out how to sing 30 minutes with just his guitar. They didn't know eachothers songs, so they were put up to the real challenge and be creative. ARTSTRONG played some random chords and ALIYA found her way through with lyrics and a melody and together they created their own rendition of songs including a version of "DON'T KNOW WHY" live on air without any rehearsal! The feedback for this track was so impressive that it was released untouched on the album "JAM & JIVE".
That immediately brought them the great idea for a radio show, offered by station manager JOE 'D MANGO. The show "TWISTED" was born only minutes after their promo spot, the show where they twisted songs by changing chords, ad libbing and freestyling, singing lyrics of one song to the music of other songs, on the spot by request.
THOR joined the duo, but unfortunately time and distance was not on their side. Shortly after, sadly their favorite stint came to an end.
Never the less, during all the time spent back at the studio it was inevitable for the next song to be recorded when ALLAN presented an old song he wrote, but wasn't quite sure how to polish. ALIYA then started "ad libbing" a new melody on his track. "STOP THINK" was created and simultaniously recorded on the spot. Aliya not being fully aware, ALLAN submitted the song to composers contest "HIMIG HANDOG" on ABS-CBN in 2003. She realized what had just happened when she received the phone call. To their surprise, "STOP THINK" had made it as one of the 10 final songs and then became a huge radio hit.
Immediately "STAR RECORDS" picked that up and they signed ALIYA up in 2004, for one year. They released the album "SINGLES", including fellow female vocalists Karel Marquez, Maoui David and Marinel Santos. "SINGLES" included the carrier single "I CLOSE MY EYES" with a very controversial music video, directed by CONNIE MACATUNO, starring super celebrity "JERICHO ROSALES".
"I CLOSE MY EYES" is ALIYA'S tribute song to JOSE MARI CHAN which ALIYA once again composed herself.
Also on the album is the re-release of "STOP THINK", the theme song for the t.v. series "SEASONS OF LOVE" and the much requested revival of the song "FOR ALL OF MY LIFE".
By this time her duet "THE ANSWER" wich she performed and co-wrote with Filipino rapper "KRAZYKYLE", was finally released. Months after they actually finished recording it.
In 2005 composer/producer/singer KEITH MARTIN (best known for "BECAUSE OF YOU" and "NEVER FIND SOMEONE LIKE YOU") was interested in collaborating with ALIYA for "KYLA'S" album "NO ORDINARY GIRL". They composed the song "WHEN I'M WITH YOU".
The two got together again to compose the heart tearing ballad "THE HURT I'D GO THROUGH", released on KYLA'S latest album "BEAUTIFUL DAYS".
ALIYA also found some time to write and record the cute "kilig scene" song, "FOREVERTIME" together with ARTSTRONG, OST "ETERNITY". A movie by MARK REYES under Regal Films starring Iza Calzado, Ding Dong Dantes, Mark Herras and Jennelyn Mercado.
ALIYA has also been voted by MEGA magazine in 2003 as one of Manila's 10 most beautiful.
She's been voted FHM's 100 sexiest in the world for 3 consecutive years.
And were you lucky enough to catch her at the final table of the very first (RAY BAN CELEBRITY) POKER TOURNAMENT in the Philippines? This grand poker debut was televised over a dozen times. Aliya represented all the women, as she was the only female to make it to the finals.
Meeting DOYLE BRUNSON in the flesh and being able to interview him during his own tournament visit along side JACK BINION and a few of the other most respected, notorious players in the entire world may have been one of the highlights of her poker experience so far.
And who wouldn't want to be in her shoes as she hosted the first official WPT (WORLD POKER TOUR) Philippines, marking it's debut in the entire Philippine poker history!
Currently she is working on a solo album whenever she's not too busy doing gigs, corporate shows, pictorials, charity work or making hand-made photo frames, post cards and paintings (now being sold exclusively at PEPPERED CHERRY in SERENDRA Makati).

1. One of top 10 semi_finalist in the Miss Hawaiian Tropic International Pageant 2005 held at Las Vegas Nevada, USA.
I'm a twenty-one year-old half-British and half-Filipino woman. I lost my father to cancer at a young age so I grew up admiring my mother who was a strong and independent single mom of three. My self-motivation, drive and determination to succeed are characteristics I imbibed from her.
I fell in love with music and all forms of expression at the age of three. I began taking dance and piano lessons while singing and songwriting came naturally to me. I am currently in the process of making my debut album.
I moved to the Philippines two years ago after graduating from college. I have always wanted to move to the Philippines to learn about the other half of my heritage. I love the culture, the people and of course, the country itself because it is one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Aubrey is the third among the four kids of Victorino Sandel and Maria Perla Santos. She finished her secondary education at La Consolacion Academy in Caloocan City. She was a college sophomore student at the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music, major in voice and minor in piano when talent scout Dondon Monteverde discovered and signed her up to an eight-film, two-year contract with Regal Films.
At 16, she was already appearing in GMA sitcoms like Beh Bote Nga and German Moreno's Best Friends. In between showbiz assignments, she joined beauty contests such as Miss Ever Gotesco, Miss Caloocan, Miss Lions Club, and Miss Global Philippines in which her sister ended up being the first runner-up and she won fourth runner-up. She never won a title but copped runner-up positions that earned her enough money to support her family and herself.
As she was nearing the age of 20, she decided to do something new. Dondon Monteverde offered her to play a prostitute from the provinces in the softcore movie Prosti (abbreviation for "prostitute"). After Prosti became successful in the box office, making P29 million. To date, Prosti is still the highest grossing movie of her career. This successful debut led to other movie offers, all of which did not enjoy the same level of success as Prosti. She was offered endorsement contracts from different companies, such as Bench (a clothing company in the Philippines).
After Prosti, she starred in the movie Xerex (based on a sex confessional column in a Philippine tabloid), where she played three different roles. Xerex was a commercial disaster as a result of two movies: Viva Films' Sex Drive and 20th Century Fox's X2: X-Men United. Originally scheduled for an April 2, 2003 opening date, Regal Films did not want to risk playing Xerex with Sex Drive knowing that Aubrey's rival Maui Taylor and fellow Viva hot babe Katya Santos are a formidable box-office attraction together. Realizing that there's no chance of winning against Viva's sexy movie, Regal delayed Xerex's opening by 28 days.
Unfortunately again for Regal and Aubrey Miles, Xerex opened on the same April 30, 2003 date as Hollywood's X2 made its much-awaited debut. Adding insult to injury, Star Cinema released its much-awaited romantic comedy Til There Was You (Judy Ann Santos and Piolo Pascual) that same day as well. Because Regal spent so much money and could not afford another delay, they went ahead in releasing Xerex. As a wide majority of filmgoers watched X2 and Til There Was You, Xerex flopped in the box-office making only P13.3 million on a budget of P24 million. Even with home videos accounted for, Regal lost a total of P18.1 million with Xerex. Since Xerex, Miles' movie career and ability to attract moviegoers got damaged and never recovered.
Her next movie, Sanib, further damaged her acting career as it grossed only 8.2 million PhP in the box office despite its P25 million budget and massive marketing by Regal Films. It was universally panned by film critics as a poor man's copycat of The Exorcist. Not surprisingly, Miles was perceived as a candidate for "2003's Worst Actress" due to her badly-criticized performance in this movie. She played a young lady who gets possessed by demons, very much like Linda Blair in The Exorcist.
Targeting multi-media exposure, her manager secured for her a contract with television network ABS-CBN. She appeared in Masayang Tanghali Bayan (a daily noontime show) and in several sitcoms of ABS-CBN. As part of her marketing strategy to appeal to a wider audience, she began appearing in non-sexy roles in movies like Sanib, A Beautiful Life and Gagamboy, Regal Film's entry to the 2003 Metro Manila Film Festival, where she appeared as actor Vhong Navarro's love interest.
She joined as a contestant in The Amazing Race Asia 1 where she teamed-up with her real-life best friend, Jacqueline Yu. They were eliminted in the 3rd leg of the race. Her current boyfriend is Filipino-American actor and model Troy Montero.
Very recently, movie scouts from Hollywood's Warner Bros. approached Miles and asked if she would be interested to play the lead role of comic book icon Wonder Woman in an upcoming film of the character. These scouts were sent to the Philippines by no less than producer Joel Silver, who made The Matrix film franchise.

Taylor initially got into show biz with the assistance of a cousin who was a member of a dance group in the Philippines. Because of her mestiza features, Taylor quickly found herself as a sought after actress despite the fact that she had no prior acting experience. She was eventually cast on the Filipino TV soap opera Anna Karenina at the age of 14. This lead to other roles in various TV shows as well as cinema.
Taylor first gained nationwide attention when she appeared on the cover of the April 2002 issue of FHM (Philippine edition). Because of her mature body and her very youthful face, she instantly became a hot sex symbol among men. This was justified when she appeared in her first starring role in the movie Gamitan, which grossed almost P70 million in the local box office. Maui Taylor had early movie appearances in films such as Tatarin and S2pid Luv, both from Viva Films. She had her big breakthrough, in 2002, when she got her first starring role in Gamitan, a movie where she played a young college girl who lost her virginity to an abusive and traitorous basketball player (who only used her in a big bet with friends), and latter plotted schemes of vengeance against those who hurt her. Gamitan was also the first movie where the young actress appeared nude and performed in sex scenes on the screen although no frontal nudity was shown.
Also in 2002, Taylor appeared in the film Hibla where she shared the lead with fellow actress Rica Peralejo. In separate situations in the film, both actresses appeared nude and performed sex scenes with different actors. Hibla easily topped the box office and enjoyed stealing people's attention as it featured a French kissing scene between Taylor and Peralejo (non-lesbian situation). The film is noted for its stunning capture of natural scenery.2003 was the last year Taylor was active in films. In April 2003, she starred with actress Katya Santos in the sex comedy Sex Drive, which was deeply inspired by the movie Y' Tu MaMa Tambien. Although it was blasted by critics for its pointless plot and sex scenes, Sex Drive made around almost P65 million domestically.
While not as popular as her three previous movies, Ang Huling Birhen Sa Lupa was the big awards winner for the 2003 Manila Film Festival (including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actress) and gained a financial boost from its victory. Taylor gained her first acting nomination with the film, particularly for Best Actress (which went to her co-star Ara Mina). The controversial movie became the festival's 2nd highest grossing entry.
Later in 2003, Taylor's film career started sliding as two of her films with Viva, Masamang Ugat and Bugbog Sarado failed to ignite in the local box-office. On the home video front, the star enjoyed a rise in her popularity boosted by the hot sales of the sexy music video collection Sex Goddess. She continues to be one of the most popular models and actresses in Filipino entertainment. The November 2005 issue of FHM featured an exclusive interview of Taylor as well as a hot-looking cover of her. Taylor is expected to star in the upcoming movie Short Time, a sex comedy that will be released later this year 2006.
Taylor is a consistent vote-getter in FHM Philippines' annual 100 Sexiest Women in the World chart. In the 2006 chart, she ranked 20th overall, up 54 notches from 2005. For the years 2002 and 2003, she made the Top 10.
Since she started going bold on screen, the gorgeous actress became a huge box office magnet at the theaters. Her highest grossing non-starring role was the comedy S2pid Luv. To date, her leading role films combined for a box office take of P265,833,619.
